Knowledge-Based Authentication
Adeptra provides intelligent consumer authentication methods to prevent identity theft and account takeover.
Adeptra offers methods of authentication beyond the standard verification of address, birth date or social security number. Adeptra's Knowledge-Based Authentication solution uses progressive questioning to ask client-tailored, multiple choice questions that are unique to individual consumers and unlikely to be known by someone attempting to takeover an identity. Questions are continuously refreshed based on the consumer’s answers and degree of risk.
Unauthorized attempts to access an account are thwarted by asking multiple, specific questions more likely to only be known by genuine consumers, such as: employer’s address; the amount of your car payment each month; the amount of your payment last month on this account; and many others. These are asked until enough have been answered correctly to authenticate the consumer or to understand that the person on the line is not the correct person. In these situations, Adeptra will define requirements with our client to determine if the impersonator is transferred into the call center or not.
