Adeptra supplements traditional fraud detection by penetrating deeper to examine activity on accounts in lower-risk bands.
Protecting consumers from fraud is a never-ending effort and Adeptra is focused on supporting our clients’ goals in this battle. Fraud prevention steps are typically taken after a series of authorizations are recognized as inconsistent from a fraud detection engine. This leaves a large population of accounts that could be called earlier in the process to confirm the first authorization rather than waiting for the third or fourth transaction to increase the priority.
Adeptra's Decision Engine delivers automated fraud detection communications in real-time the moment a high-risk transaction has been recognized. We target accounts in the lower-risk bands of fraud detection when a single high-risk transaction has just taken place, but the comprehensive risk score is not high enough to warrant an account block and/or fraud investigation. In these situations, Adeptra will make a processing decision based on the location of the transaction, the cardholder, time of day, type of transaction and the amount, in order to recommend an appropriate communication through the best channel. When done in a discreet, automated way such as two-way voice, text, email or alert pushed to a smart phone, the consumer can validate the high-risk transaction and continue using their card without the inconvenience and embarrassment of a card block.
