Credit Line Increase Review

In the past, issuers looked at high-value and low-risk consumers regularly and increased the credit limit as much as they were able to based on each consumer’s level of risk.  Regulatory changes have since limited this practice and issuers are now unable to deliver credit line increases (CLIs) without a consumer’s request or explicit acceptance. 

To address this, Adeptra's Decision Engine takes any consumer event, such as a declined transaction due to lack of spending availability, and consolidates data from disparate systems for a complete view of that consumer’s overall portfolio, to determine if he or she is eligible for a CLI.  The consumer is then aligned with a real-time automated communication strategy and channel, based on personal preference and transactional data. 

The conversation is delivered and the consumer can either accept or decline the CLI within the interaction.  In the case that the consumer declines the CLI, the communication asks if he or she is interested in allowing the transaction to go through with the acceptance of an over-limit charge.  If this is acceptable to the consumer, the transaction is set up for an authorization override.  In this way, consumers still get what they need and the issuer gains fee revenue on the activity, while remaining compliant with current regulations.  Conversely, if the consumer does not want a CLI and is not interested in accepting an over-limit charge, he or she can choose to make a payment electronically on the account to create spending availability.

Adeptra completes the processing of these actions by delivering updates to the system of record, which provides for the change in credit line, status, override, and general commenting.  Our system automatically completes the process to make sure that the audit trail is appropriately maintained on the consumer account.
